Dr. Samuel Adams is a board-certified Orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty training in spine surgery. He offers a variety of services and focuses on a patient-centered approach to care to keep patients healthy and active. He joined Pioneer Peak Orthopedics in 2019 following his fellowship at West Virginia University, where he learned about advanced spinal pathology and complex surgery. During his training, he was also received experience in robotic spine surgery and helped introduce robotic spine surgery to the Mat-Su Valley. Primary surgical interests involve decompression of cervical and lumbar degeneration or disc herniation, cervical motion preservation, cervical myelopathy, revision procedures, peripheral nerve decompression, and fusion. He is the recipient of multiple grants to further his interests in spine research and education, with particular interest in cervical myelopathy.
Outside of work he is active with Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation, where he serves on the fundraising committee. He is a competitive mountain runner with top 5 finishes in Mat-Peak Challenge and Kāesugi Ridge Race and can often be found cross country or backcountry skiing in Hatcher Pass.
